About
I have two decades of clinical and non-clinical experience in various settings—schools, client homes, orphanage and mental health agencies, both locally and internationally in Asia. Working cross-culturally and in different settings has given me a deeper understanding of children from various backgrounds and has allowed me to better help them develop intellectually, emotionally and socially.
As a mother of two sensitive and developmentally precocious children, parenting doesn’t come without challenges. I haven’t always been a “perfect" parent—in fact some days, not even close—but what I’ve learnt is that perfection isn’t the goal. There is no “one way” to parent. Rather be a conscious parent and strive to be better each day.
Being in tune with my children and myself is an ongoing practice. Everyday, my children help me gain a deeper understanding of myself and the divergence between the clinical knowledge I’ve learned and the application of it in practice.
With additional training in art and play therapy, I incorporate these powerful modalities into my sessions with children, teens, adults and families. My goal in each session is to hold a safe and non-judgemental space for you to freely be yourself and speak your mind and heart. Together, we will explore this space using a variety of interventions, focusing on your strengths and developing practical skills that can be implemented immediately into your life.
